All 16 Teams To Compete In The PMGC 2022 Grand Finals Have Been Locked

With the conclusion of the PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2022 (PMGC 2022) League Stage, all the 16 teams to compete in the PMGC 2022 Grand Finals have been locked. The league stage of the championship featured 48 teams, two invited and the rest from regional tournaments. After competing in three sub-stages of the League Stage, 14 teams have moved on to the Grand Finals, whereas the rest have been eliminated. These 14 will now move ahead and join two directly invited teams in the Grand Finals and fight for the ultimate PUBG Mobile 2022 esports title and the lion’s share in the prize pool of $4 Million USD. The PMGC 2022 Grand Finals will be played in a LAN setting at the Battle Arena in Jakarta, Indonesia, from 6th to 8th January 2023.

Asian teams have shown incredible performance so far. More than ten teams qualified for the finals are Asian teams. India-based esports organization has also demonstrated an outstanding performance with its Mongolian roster and qualified for the Grand Finals after leading the points table of Group Green. Notably, two Nepali teams, T2K Esports and DRS Gaming have also booked a slot for themselves in the Grand Finals. Furthermore, the champion of the previous two editions of PMGC, , has once again reserved a place for itself in the Grand Finals.

Unfortunately, no Indian team was able to participate in the PMGC 2022. At the beginning of the championship, Indian fans anticipated that the organizers would announce a direct invite slot for Indian teams in either League or Grand Finals of the championship. However, Krafton made multiple changes to the championship’s format, and Indian teams were not given an invite. 

There were three vacant indefinite slots in the championship, two in League Stage, and one in Grand Finals. However, in October, to the League Stage and filled the last two remaining undefined slots. Furthermore, in late November, of the championship. According to the revised format, the last remaining slot was allocated to one more qualifying team from the league stage of the championship. As a result, no Indian team could compete in the grand finals as well.
