Bungie, a subsidiary video game company of Sony Interactive Entertainment has confirmed that with the October release of Episode: Revenant, an extensive list of new features and changes will be making their way into the Crucible. With the current installment coming to a conclusion, the Destiny 2 fanbase is understandably buzzing with anticipation as gamers anxiously anticipate these updates.

Many fans have been wondering where the game goes after the Echoes plot ended. Well, they can stop wondering now. This episode is said to reunite the Scorn with their fearsome commander, Fikrul the Fanatic. This change does double duty: it reawakens the Scorn's specter and unlocks new tactics and gameplay mechanics for the Guardians to investigate. You want to know the Crucible changes? Read on.

Crucible Changes

One of the major Crucible changes is the use of the crouch spamming tactic. Many gamers in the PvP arena have been complaining about crouch spamming lately, considering it's so hard for opponents to hit players that use it. Noticing that this conduct might provide an unfair advantage, several players have voiced their dissatisfaction, saying that it upsets the balance of the game and makes it less competitive overall. The amount of instances a player may crouch in rapid succession will be capped by Bungie in response to community complaints.

Since crouch spamming often threw off gunfights and made the game unbalanced, this modification has been generally well-received. However this doesn't mean players can't still use it tactically. Essentially, the planned changes to the Crucible mode will make the competitive experience better by giving players new challenges and making the game more balanced. Players can hardly wait for the release date to roll around so they can dig into the new content and find out what the dynamic world of Destiny 2 has in store for them.

New Contents in Destiny 2

Bungie announced that, in addition to the sandbox level updates, Solitude will be making a comeback to the map rotation—but not in the way that gamers may be expecting. Bungie has made several adjustments to the geometry and spawn places of the replayed version in the hopes that it would have a more seamless experience overall. Although Solitude will soon be available in Destiny 2's 6v6 and Competitive playlists, it will not be available in Trials just yet as the game company evaluates player feedback.

One of the new callouts that Bungie is introducing is a "Assisted By" notification that shows up whenever a player helps out with a kill. This feature promotes a feeling of unity among players while also recognising their contributions to the squad. Another change is that the player's gravestone will now include a weapon symbol, so others can see what kind of gun was used to kill them.
