Electronic Arts (EA) announces that the final chapter of the Star Wars Jedi Series is currently in development. The most recent announcement from the game franchise confirmed that Respawn Entertainment is working on a new game in the Star Wars Jedi Series. Per the disclosure, this phase will mark the “final chapter” of the Cal Kestis saga.

EA’s president of entertainment and technology, Laura Miele, revealed during a recent Investor Day presentation that Respawn is hard at work on this final chapter while describing it as a "super exciting conclusion" to the saga that started with Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and its sequel Jedi: Survivor.

Anticipation Mounts as EA Announces Final Chapter of Star Wars Jedi Series in Development

EA’s announcement comes one week after it released Update 9 for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor (for PC). The new update addressed much of the game’s performance glitches on PC. Moreover, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor (for PC) launched on modern consoles like PS4 and Xbox One, increasing its reach to a new and larger audience.

The series has garnered over 40 million players across its first two games. EA, however, would want its next series game to provide a grander end to its series and further extend its legacy in the Star Wars gaming universe – hopefully garnering more players.

The reveal falls in line with the original intentions of the first Series director, Stig Asmussen. Stig reportedly planned that the story would unfold over three games in a classic trilogy. Although Stig has now left Respawn Entertainment to open his studio, the devs are apparently in tandem with his idea.

Cameron Monaghan, the actor who portrayed Carl Kestis, had previously demonstrated his plan to return for another game in the VStar Wars Jedi series. He disclosed this during an interview, revealing that he'd return to another Star Wars Jedi game.

The Vietnam War-inspired series is renowned for its blend of action-adventure gameplay and immersive storytelling that has left fans eagerly awaiting the next chapter. Incidentally, this time, the “next chapter” will be the final, based on the producer’s announcement, and could easily pass for one of the most highly-anticipated in the series which can easily be one of the best PS4 games in 2024.

The most recent disclosure about an ongoing dev for a third chapter suffices for arguments and growing curiosity about whether there’ll be a third phase. We expect EA to reveal more information about the next Jedi series game as we approach its launch.
