If there is one thing that Transformers fans want the most, it is high-quality video games fans can play for hours unending with friends and a half-eaten pizza box - definitely not another live-action movie. Microsoft games have probably read the minds of Transformer’s fans and yielded to their desires.

Although no official confirmation has been made by Microsoft games, excitement has been building as rumors have it that it is working on not one but two Transformer games set to come out this year (2024).

However, like any rumor, it's important to take this latest batch of intel with a grain of salt and as difficult as it might be, not get too excited.

That said, the fan website has several dedicated members, and the poster who announced this has built credibility by closely following Transformers projects.

So What Could The Games Be About?

To start off, Transformers is a popular franchise known for the movies, toys and games which have only made life more colorful.

At the moment, live-action Michael Bay movies are the most popular, but transformer games and toys have been gaining popularity over the years.

As mentioned earlier, the rumor stated that the release of these games is slated for the year 2024 and what this release could mean is that the two projects are related to Activision's Cybertron series. Here's why it might be related to Activisuon’s Cybertron series.

Earlier this year, Activision's Cybertron series suddenly appeared on the Xbox store with other Transformers games that had been previously delisted because of licensing. Then, at the peak of Deadpool & Wolverine popularity, an Xbox insider revealed that Microsoft is working to re-license several Marvel titles. According to insider Shpeshal Nick, Microsoft is actively working to get the Deadpool solo video game, as well as the Marvel Ultimate Alliance games back on the store again.

Like the Transformers titles, the Marvel video games were also published by Activision and subsequently delisted. In other words, there could be a connection.

Now that Activision is under Microsoft games, it appears that re-licensing older video games that were Backwards Compatible is a goal.

Of course, all of this could mean nothing at the end of the day. There could be entirely new releases underway or none at all.

However, since fans have clearly stated their desire for a re-release, especially as prices on the second-hand market have exploded due to the lack of availability, it would be a welcome treat as well as a huge morale boost for the community that definitely needs one.

Final Remarks

If there's one thing Transformers fans desire, it's not another live-action film, but engaging, high-quality games that'll get their blood pumping as hours speed past with friends. While no official confirmation has been made, rumors of Microsoft games working on two new Transformer games have definitely sparked excitement.

Also, given the connection to Activision’s Cybertron series, the potential re-release of older titles, and Microsoft’s licensing efforts, this could be a huge win for the fanbase. However, until official announcements are made, all fans can do is wait.
