2022 has been an incredible year for the gaming industry. With the world more or less out of lockdown, people have started organizing tournaments in physical arenas, esports is back on track, and brands have begun releasing new games. We got games such as Dying Light 2, Horizon Forbidden West, and Elden Ring in the first half. However, in Q4 of 2022, more games are coming, and people can’t keep calm. So, here’s a list of the top 5 most anticipated games of Q4 2022. Let’s dive right in.

1. God of War Ragnarok - November 9

The popular franchise is back with its 9th main game, and the hype is real. With Thor serving as one of the main antagonists in the game, fans are excited to see how Kratos and his son will evolve in this installment. Another reason why people can’t wait for this game to release is that this would bring the Norse saga to an end. So the question is, what will the ending look like for the protagonist?

2. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - October 28

Modern Warfare 2 is yet another game people have eagerly awaited. It is a reboot of the game with the same name, and it is the second time the studio is making a reboot. Previously, we had seen the reboot of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and people loved it. So, the stakes for Modern Warfare 2 are quite high. The game has the multiplayer feature, one of the biggest points the marketing team harps upon. The story is set three years after Soap created Task 141. The team will now contain a situation where a foreign general has been killed. The main groups this team will fight are the Al-Qatala and Las Almas.

3. Gotham Knights - October 25

Gotham Knights is set in the aftermath of Batman’s death. While fans still don’t believe that the Caped Crusader is dead, the developer has clarified that he is gone for good. The game will have four main characters - Red Hood, Robin, Batgirl, and Nightwing. Players can play these characters, and the main antagonist they face will be The Court of Owls. However, there’s also a chance that there will be other secondary and tertiary villains in the game, and we can’t wait to see who they are.

4. Scorn - October 21

As the Halloween season approaches, people are gearing up for spooky and scary content. With the gaming industry, it is no different. Scorn is a blend of the sci-fi and horror genres where the player will explore an alien planet that is hostile and nightmarish. Besides aliens, the players will also be exposed to certain biochemical weapons that cause bodily horrors to the players. The game has generated quite a buzz throughout its development journey, and people are particularly impressed with the visual style.

5. Overwatch 2 - October 4

Overwatch has been a high-octane action game that is not too serious and quite entertaining. The second installment will be in the 5v5 gameplay format and will introduce some new characters that fans of the franchise are keen on meeting. Although the game releases on October 4th, it is early access. This means that while the game is complete, as time passes, there might be more inclusions of features or upgrades that you’ll need to keep an eye out for.

Honorable Mention: The Last of Us Part 1

Although this game has already been released, it is worth a mention since it came out only on September 2. The Last of Us has been a popular game from Sony and is arguably one of the brand’s biggest IPs. This remake acts as an evolved version of the game. The technical aspects such as sound, graphics, accessibility options, and more have been worked upon to bring the game alive on PS5.
