Of course, it's not a replacement for  Xbox  Game Pass, but PlayStation Plus provides a lot to its customers across three tiers.

Essential includes everything that the original PlayStation Plus did, Extra includes access to the Game Catalog, and Premium includes everything from the previous two tiers and exclusive extras like game trials, cloud streaming, and the Classics Catalog.

Though there has been praise for PlayStation Plus, Premium subscribers feel like they aren't getting their money's worth, with paltry additions to the Classics Catalog each month. If you're in that camp, flip that frown upside down. According to Insider Gaming, one of the most anticipated features for the PlayStation 5 will be available only to those who subscribe to the highest PlayStation Plus tier.

UPDATE: Your guide to the all-new PlayStation Plus – PlayStation.Blog

The PlayStation will receive a much-needed Discord connection in March's update, along with cloud streaming for PlayStation 5 titles, which will be quite helpful for those with limited storage. The drawback—or benefit, depending on your perspective—is that this feature is only available to PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers.

With Xbox Cloud Gaming, the scenario is similar but not the same. A Microsoft account and a supported device are all you need to enjoy free-to-play games like Fortnite, but Xbox Game Pass Ultimate allows you to stream A Plague Tale: Requiem and thousands of other titles. Additionally, PlayStation 5 users can currently broadcast PS4 games on their console, but native PS5 streaming may not be possible until you subscribe.

Since March is a ways off, it's best to treat this information with a grain of salt, and these details are subject to change.

PlayStation Disables the PS Plus Subscription Exploit.

PlayStation Plus is currently way cheaper for a limited time. As we rush towards the launch of the redesigned service, PlayStation Plus updates are coming thick and fast. If you missed it, PlayStation Plus would soon be divided into three tiers: Essential, Extra, and Premium. I'm not sure how you could have missed it at this point.

It was recently made public that customers with PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now subscriptions would automatically enrol in the Premium tier for their longest prior subscription. Fans rushed to purchase memberships, giving them access to the Premium tier for a fraction of what it will cost when the program debuts in June.

The unfortunate news is that PlayStation closed the security breach. Both service users have been trying to purchase additional PlayStation Plus subscriptions to make their current membership last for a full year. They practically get a year's worth of Premium access for half price.

Currently, a year of PlayStation Plus costs £49.99/$59.99, while a year of Premium will set you back £99.99/$119.99. When trying to redeem their codes, those who recently purchased Plus subscriptions to add to and extend their current memberships encounter an error code.

While Sony hasn't commented on the decision, it comes after PlayStation Now was previously pulled off sale when consumers realized they could also acquire Premium at a lower price this way.

Access to about 340 additional games, including PlayStation 3 games that can be streamed via the cloud, as well as a selection of PlayStation 1, PlayStation 2, and PSP games, is one of Premium's special features. Because of this, Premium is sure to become well-liked. But I suppose from now on we'll have to pay full price.

In 2022, PlayStation Plus had a great year, giving its devoted fans games like Ghost of Tsushima Legends, Slay the Spire, Toem, and more. In the first month of 2023, you might be tightening your belt. If so, we have some excellent news for you.

If you didn't get the memo, PlayStation Plus is now divided into three categories, and costs have been reduced by 30 to 40%. The Essential tier offers consumers a selection of monthly titles to claim, access to online multiplayer modes, exclusive discounts in the Store, and the PlayStation Plus Collection, just like the original subscription service did. If you haven't already, sign up for that final one immediately to receive free games like Persona 5, Bloodborne, and God of War. All of the aforementioned are made available with Extra and the Game Catalog, which has a huge selection of PlayStation games from Celeste to Balan Wonderworld.

Finally, Premium adds exclusive benefits such as game trials, cloud streaming, and the Classics Catalog to everything we've discussed thus far. It's critical to understand what each tier does, as the discount only applies to PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium.

The three-month and twelve-month subscriptions for Extra and Premium on PlayStation's official website offer savings on the first three or twelve months before returning to the regular price. If you're on the fence, you'll need to act quickly because this discount expires on January 13th. Given the amount of love PS Plus received throughout 2022, it's worth considering paying for the subscription service if you want a good run for your money.
