SC Game World has announced the final phase of development for Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, providing eager fans with an anticipated release window of Q1 2024.
The announcement was made alongside releasing a new trailer, the "Strider Trailer," featuring the game's main character.
While a specific date is yet to be disclosed, speculation hints at a possible reveal during The Game Awards 2023, slated to air on December 7.
The Long-Awaited Arrival
Yevhen Grygorovych, CEO of GSC Game World, shed light on the extensive journey of Stalker 2's gameplay creation during the PC Gaming Show.
"This game stands as the biggest and most complex game in our lives. It was ambitious from the beginning but evolved into an ultimate challenge," he said.
Grygorovych highlighted the game's significance and its development despite incredibly stressful conditions.
Initially scheduled for a 2022 release, Stalker 2 gameplay encountered multiple setbacks, primarily due to the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, which disrupted GSC Game World's operations.
Additionally, the studio faced cyber threats, including email hacks and cybersecurity breaches, further hindering the game's progress.
Anticipation Builds Amidst Challenges
