After a few months of trailers, pre-registration, and light gameplay details, the mobile adaptation of the popular webtoon/anime series Tower of God titled Tower of God: Great Journey finally has a release date: February 14th. That’s right – this Valentine’s Day, all you Tower of God fanatics are in for a treat as you can experience the beloved story of the series told instead through idle side-scrolling combat full of epic animations and a large amount of characters to collect!
Tower of God is a series that became somewhat of a cult classic back in the day, getting an animated series adaptation from its original webtoon format only a few years back. The story sees our protagonist, Bam, traversing a mysterious multi-floored tower as he encounters various other characters – some intent on helping, others out for his head. The plot is vague and told in pieces as Bam slowly uncovers the mystery of the titular Tower of God.
Great Journey, on the other hand, seeks to take this adventure and turn it into a mobile game for us. The gameplay looks somewhat adjacent to something like AFK Arena specifically, as you collect various characters from the series and send them into different content, watching them battle as you occasionally click their portraits to utilise strong abilities – each unique from the other.
Of course, as you progress, you’ll be levelling up your party as well as equipping them with different gear and the like. The animations are quite stunning, and each character is realised in a way that is reminiscent of the series, so if you’re a fan of Tower of God, you’ll likely love this.
