For Call of Duty fans, the wait is almost over as the highly anticipated Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 release date approaches. Set against the backdrop of the early '90s Gulf War, the latest entry in the popular and legendary franchise is about to launch on October 24, 2024. It also has  a rolling release schedule across different platforms and regions. Let's give you a rundown of what you need to know.

Release Timing and Preload Details

PC players on Battle.Net and Steam can jump into the action starting October 24 at 9 PM PT. For console players, you will experience a regional rollout beginning October 24 at 4 AM PT.

For most regions, this means it'll be a midnight launch on October 25 in their local time zones. If you're one of those eager fans tired of waiting, you can get a head start with the Call of Duty preload time beginning October 21 at 9 AM PT. It's even an advantage, since you'll be ready for immediate deployment when the game goes live.

Revolutionary Multiplayer and Combat Systems

Black Ops 6 Multiplayer introduces the groundbreaking Omnimovement system which promises to revolutionize how players navigate the battlefield. At launch, players can test their skills across 16 carefully crafted maps. 12 of these maps are designed for intense 6v6 encounters and 4 are specialized Strike Maps.

The game notably launches with an arsenal of 12 confirmed weapons, and the return of the Classic Prestige system has veterans particularly excited. The inclusion of Wildcards also offers much more loadout customization.

Zombies Return

Black Ops 6 Zombies makes a triumphant return with two launch maps: Terminus Island and Liberty Falls. These maps deliver the classic round-based experience fans have been craving, complete with the return of GobbleGums and the introduction of innovative Mutant Injections for enhanced gameplay. Players can tackle Easter Egg quests on each map to play through the Zombies storyline. A third map has even been confirmed to arrive before the end of the year.

Meanwhile, the Campaign mode promises a gripping spy-thriller narrative. It follows Frank Woods and his team as they face off against the very military machine that created them. Adding to the game's appeal is also the confirmed implementation of robust anti-cheat measures, with Activision pledging to ban cheaters within an hour of their first match.

Wrapping Up

We don't know if you're as excited as we are, but either way, more COD content is on the way. Whether you're a fan of the narrative-driven Campaign, the competitive Black Ops 6 Multiplayer experience, or the classic heart-pounding Black Ops 6 Zombies mode, this latest installment is looking really packed. We have just days remaining until launch, and we cannot wait to lay our hands on the new entry in the famous franchise.
