July came with exciting VR game releases that many gamers are yet to recover from fully. However, the gaming world isn't stopping for anyone in summer as new Virtual Reality (VR) games make it to public platforms like Quest, PC VR, PlayStation VR2, and Pico this August.

Meanwhile, pro gamers would also not mind checking out some of the best free VR games released earlier than August 2024.

Best Virtual Reality Games to Play in August

Here's reviewing the best Virtual Reality (VR) games to play in August - whether you're in for the latest titles or don't mind reliving older classics.

1. Gravity League

August VR release Gravity League launched on Pico and Quest App Lab on the first day of the month. One of the best free VR games to try now, Gravity League promises easy-to-grasp rules for both new and experienced VR gamers.

You only need two players, one ball, and zero gravity to run a round. The player to record 11 goals first wins the round. There are no official reports on when Gravity League will launch on Steam.

2. Beat Saber

Beat Saber boasts very straightforward rules you can readily grasp. However, its swift pace can be too much for you if you're new to VR games. It's excellent for working out as it arms you with a laser sword in either hand as you slash at beat-matched blocks streaming toward you.

In a classic rhythm action game style, the VR game pits you against a gymnastic cyber-samurai in part on the one hand and a pop music choreographer on the other. Players can also ramp up the difficulty for tougher challenges or dial back for a more relaxing time.

3. Hello Cruel World

Another August 1 release, Hello Cruel World offers a thrilling (or terrifying) puzzle adventure designed from the ground up for Virtual Reality game players. The puzzle game sees players take on the character of an urban explorer visiting a haunted attraction called the Crab n’ Grab.

Akapura Games (the same brain behind The Frame VR) developed Hello Cruel World to include a real-time simulated chat reminiscent of Twitch and YouTube. Check out this game if you think it might suit you on PC VR, Steam, and Quest.

4. Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes

The Multiplayer game "Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes" was released in 2015 but has aged well in nearly a decade. In a world of wars and bombs and intercontinental ballistic missiles, Keep Talkin' lets you practice defusing bombs - albeit in a frantic and potentially exciting (or scary) VR world.

One player enters VR and exclusively sees a ticking time bomb. The other player outside VR has to identify the manual for defusing the bomb from a vast library. The defuser’s goal is to quickly and correctly identify the type of bomb in question and relay the information to the player in VR.

Otherwise? Well, everybody explodes. Keep Talkin' is playable without a VR headset on iOS and Android phones if you want a feel of the game.

Final Thoughts

Check out the best VR games to play in August. Try "Gravity League" and "Hello Cruel World" if you prefer the latest exciting VR games. Otherwise, check out "Beat Saber" or "Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes" to relish some VR classics with friends before summer ends.
