Resident Evil Requiem has finally arrived, bringing Leon S. Kennedy and newcomer Grace Ashcroft to the terrified halls of the Rhodes Hill Care Center. One of the first major roadblocks players encounter in this 2026 survival horror masterpiece is the gruesome Organless Corpse puzzle located in the East Wing’s Examination Room. To progress past the biometric security doors, you must locate two missing key items: the Artificial Heart and the Artificial Lungs. This guide will walk you through the exact steps to solve this puzzle, unlock the Medical Wing’s secrets, and secure the Level 2 Security Wristband needed to survive the night.

Step 1: Prerequisites – Wrench and Level 1 Access

Before you can retrieve the organs, you need to gather a few essential tools. First, ensure you have acquired the Level 1 ID Wristband, which is found on the second floor of the East Wing, just south of the Nurse’s Station. Watch out for the wandering "Chunk" zombie patrolling this area; stealth is your best friend here.

Next, head to the Custodian’s Office in the West Wing. Use your new wristband to access the corridor past the Parlor. Inside the office, you will find the Wrench sitting on a desk near the typewriter save point. Do not leave without this tool—it is the key to accessing the Cold Storage room later.

Step 2: How to Get the Artificial Lungs (Garage Puzzle)

The Artificial Lungs are locked inside an Organ Transport Box in the back of a truck in the Garage (West Wing). However, opening it isn't as simple as smashing the lock. You first need the unlocking instructions.

Finding the Transport Box Code

To find the code, you must visit the Lead Researcher’s Office in the East Wing. You will see a locked Puzzle Box on the desk. To open it:

  • Retrieve the Corrosive bottle from the nearby Conference Room (beware the Shrieking Zombie inside).
  • Use the Corrosive to melt the padlock on the Puzzle Box.
  • Solve the symbol puzzle using the clues in the room photos. The code is: Star, Sun, Moon, Sun.

Inside, you will find the Leatherbound Notebook, which contains the manual for the Organ Transport Box.

Unlocking the Box in the Garage

Return to the Garage and examine the Organ Transport Box. Follow the manual's complex sequence to pop the lid:

  1. Turn the main dial to "Hand" mode.
  2. Push the slider (to the right of the dial) up to the second line.
  3. Flip yellow toggle switches #2 and #5.
  4. Turn the main dial back to "Auto".

The box will open, granting you the Artificial Lungs. Be ready to fight immediately after—a zombie operating a construction digger will crash through the wall. Shoot the driver through the cage to survive.

Step 3: How to Find the Artificial Heart Location

With the lungs in your inventory, your next stop is the Cold Storage room in the West Wing. You likely noticed this door earlier; it has a large red valve wheel that snaps off when you try to turn it.

This is where your Wrench comes into play. Interact with the broken valve mechanism and use the Wrench to manually crank the heavy door open. The temperature inside is freezing, but you won't be there long. Walk to the center of the room to find the Artificial Heart hanging in a preservation bag from the ceiling hooks. Grab it and head back to the East Wing.

Step 4: Solving the Puzzle and Getting the Level 2 Wristband

Return to the Examination Room where the Organless Corpse is waiting. Interact with the open chest cavity of the cadaver.

Place both the Artificial Heart and Artificial Lungs into the chest. As soon as you do, the biometric clamps will release, but the puzzle isn't quite over. The influx of power reanimates the corpse! It’s a tight space, so use your shotgun or heavy pistol to put it down quickly. Once the enemy is defeated, loot the body to finally obtain the Level 2 ID Wristband.

Nintendo Switch 2 Performance Tips

For those playing Resident Evil Requiem on the newly released Nintendo Switch 2, you might notice some frame rate dips in the Garage area due to the lighting effects. Nintendo and Capcom strongly recommend installing the Day 1 Patch (Version 1.1.0) before attempting this section. The update significantly smooths out the "digger boss" encounter and fixes a bug where the Wrench prompt wouldn't appear in the Custodian's Office.

With the Level 2 Wristband in hand, you can now access the Isolation Ward and continue your terrifying journey through Raccoon City’s ruins. Good luck, and remember to save your ammo.
